It was a good run, but the Jeannette Jayhawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by McGuffey at home and fell 57-26. Jeannette was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-12.
It was another big night for Taylor Schumacher, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals for McGuffey. The matchup was Schumacher's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Libby Mallah was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five assists and four steals.
Jeannette's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for McGuffey, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Jeannette will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Mapletown at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. McGuffey and Avella will face off at 8:00 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Avella has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
