The El Dorado Golden Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Brea Olinda 52-46. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as El Dorado came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Brea Olinda is ranked 331st).
Brea Olinda's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liz Han, who scored 14 points. Maya Sanborn was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
El Dorado's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Brea Olinda, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Dorado will take on El Modena at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. El Modena comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Brea Olinda, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Esperanza at 6:00 p.m.
