The Niskayuna Silver Warriors will face off against the Cornwall Central Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Niskayuna 11.7, Cornwall Central 8.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
Niskayuna is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Troy as they made off with a 28-6 victory. Considering the Silver Warriors have won nine matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Niskayuna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Thomas Boler, who threw for 109 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten passes. The dominant performance also gave Boler a new career-high in rushing yards (14). Chase Meisner made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Niskayuna didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cameron Grasso and Meisner. Meisner got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Cornwall Central's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Minisink Valley by a score of 24-21.
Niskayuna will need to focus on slowing down Reef Morrison, one of several Cornwall Central players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 82 receiving yards and one TD, and also punched in one score on the ground. Danny Twomey was another key passer, throwing for 168 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The win (which was Niskayuna's ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.7 points over those games. As for Cornwall Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Niskayuna has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 186.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cornwall Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 198.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Niskayuna against Cornwall Central in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, as the squad secured a 49-14 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Dragons' Connor Cruz, who picked up 124 receiving yards and one score. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Silver Warriors to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
