Slippery Rock has struggled against Mercyhurst Prep recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Slippery Rock's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brielle Jordan, who scored 7 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Belle Miller, who scored 3 points along with 7 rebounds.
Slippery Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Mercyhurst Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Slippery Rock will head out on the road to face off against Cambridge Springs at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mercyhurst Prep, they will square off against Mars at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Mars focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
