Willow Glen is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Monte Vista Christian is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Willow Glen let Westmont stack six runs on them in the fourth inning on Friday but luckily Willow Glen prevailed anyway. The Rams came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 12-8.
Nolan Wirtz looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Ray Walsh was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Pan, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Willow Glen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Monte Vista Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Alisal on Wednesday, taking the game 4-1. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won four in a row.
Dante Darnell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Wright, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Tyson Shaw was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Willow Glen has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Monte Vista Christian, their win bumped their record up to 21-5.
Both Willow Glen and Monte Vista Christian just can't seem to miss. The Rams have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Monte Vista Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Willow Glen came up short against Monte Vista Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2020, falling 5-1. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
