There's no place like home for the East Central Trojans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 48-35 victory over Connersville on Thursday. This was payback for East Central, who suffered a 38-29 loss the last time these two teams met.
Dylan Maxwell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with five steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Elijah Sehlhorst, who scored 11 points.
When it comes to explaining why Connersville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Blaine Hornsby. Despite the final result, he scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Cloyd, who scored six points.
East Central pushed their record up to 11-11 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Connersville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
East Central will take on Batesville at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Batesville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday. As for Connersville, they will head out on the road to challenge New Palestine at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Averaging 68.83 points so far this season, New Palestine's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Connersville better be ready for a challenge.
