The Aptos Mariners suffered their biggest defeat since December 16, 2023 on Monday. Their rough 52-32 loss to Menlo School might stick with them for a while. Aptos has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Aptos' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Sherwood, who scored two points along with seven rebounds. Gabby Wickham was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Aptos' loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Menlo School, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.
Aptos won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Harbor at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Harbor has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 14. Menlo School won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Priory on January 16th.
