They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to Cumberland Valley. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Carlisle of the 40-35 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Cumberland Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bella Mcintire led the charge by scoring eight points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sanai Hill, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds.
Carlisle has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Cumberland Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-14 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlisle will square off against Central Dauphin East at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cumberland Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Lebanon at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mt. Lebanon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cumberland Valley in Pennsylvania (Mt. Lebanon is ranked 125th, while Cumberland Valley is ranked 333rd).
