Softball Recap: St. Michael the Archangel's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

St. Michael the Archangel can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the St. Teresa's Academy Stars. The result was nothing new for the Guardians, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Sophie Young made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Young was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Samantha Dorsch, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Marjorie Hotop, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

St. Michael the Archangel's record now sits at 12-8. As for St. Teresa's Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

St. Michael the Archangel has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 defeat against Truman on the 8th. As for St. Teresa's Academy, they will face off against St. Pius X at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.29 runs per game on average), something the Stars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
