The Bentworth Bearcats can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against Frazier by a score of 54-47. The victory was just what Bentworth needed coming off of a 60-20 loss in their prior contest.
Bentworth can attribute much of their success to Aubrie Logan, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Logan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amber Sallee, who scored 14 points.
Frazier's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malana Burton, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Burton scored 15 or more points. Allie Yauch was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Bentworth's victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Frazier, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Bentworth will head out on the road to face off against Chartiers-Houston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chartiers-Houston presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bentworth in Pennsylvania (Chartiers-Houston is ranked 259th, while Bentworth is ranked 632nd). As for Frazier, they will be playing at home against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
