After a string of four wins, the Dawson Springs Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 87-56 loss at the hands of Henderson County. Dawson Springs has not had much luck with Henderson County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Dawson Springs lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Rex Blue, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Blue's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaybird Plunkette, who scored 17 points.
Dawson Springs' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2. As for Henderson County, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
Dawson Springs will take on Livingston Central in a holiday battle at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Livingston Central is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Henderson County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Pike Central at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th. Pike Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 311th in Indiana, while Henderson County is ranked third in Kentucky).
