High school basketball star
A.J. Dybantsa announced Wednesday morning on CBS HQ that he would be reclassifying to the Class of 2025 following a strong summer circuit.
The 6-foot-8, 200-pound wing takes over the top spot in the Class of 2025 rankings from reigning MaxPreps National Player of the Year
Cameron Boozer according to 247Sports.
Dybantsa
led both the NBPA Top 100 Camp and Nike EYBL Peach Jam in scoring over
the summer. He averaged 28.3 points per contest on 61.4
percent shooting from the field and 81.5 percent from the free throw
line in six games at the NBPA Top 100 Camp before pumping in 25.8 points
on 46.6 percent from the field and 81.6 percent from the field in five
games of Nike EYBL Peach Jam action.
The Massachusetts native also helped the U16 USA national team to the gold medal finish in the FIBA Americas tournament this summer, chipping in 13.7 points, 3.8 assists and 3.7 rebounds per contest while shooting 61.7 percent from the field.
As a freshman, Dybantsa led
St. Sebastian's (Needham, Mass.) to a 26-2 record and the New England Preparatory Athletic Council Class A title game after averaging 19.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.5 blocks per game on 60.8 shooting from the field and 41 percent shooting from 3-point range.
Regarded as one of the top prospects in high school basketball regardless of classification, the 16-year old rising junior is expected to have a monster season for
Prolific Prep (Napa, Calif.) in 2023-24.
