Softball Recap: Clinch County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Clinch County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane with a sharp 16-1 win on Wednesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by nine runs or more this season.

Addy Barber was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Tara Stevens, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Clinch County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Clinch County's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Fitzgerald, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Looking ahead, Clinch County will challenge Atkinson County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fitzgerald, they will host Bacon County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Purple Hurricane surely won't give up without a fight.
