Make it 15 blowout wins for the Perkiomen Valley Vikings this season. They took their matchup at home on Monday with ease, bagging a 80-22 win over Pottsgrove. The victory was nothing new for Perkiomen Valley as they're now sitting on 11 straight.
Perkiomen Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bella Bacani, who scored 15 points along with five steals. Bacani has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Grace Miley was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Defeat or not, Pottsgrove got some senior leadership from Jessica Carroll and Mikayla Eckman. Carroll scored six points along with five rebounds, while Eckman. scored seven points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Pottsgrove struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Perkiomen Valley racked up 21 assists.
Perkiomen Valley's victory was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.6 points. As for Pottsgrove, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perkiomen Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Wildcats at 6:45 p.m. on January 30th. Owen J. Roberts will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 340th, while the Vikings are ranked 16th). As for Pottsgrove, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Vikings at 6:45 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Upper Merion Area focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday.
