Paradise hasn't had much luck against Colusa recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bobcats will head out to challenge the RedHawks at 4:00 p.m. Paradise is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Paradise barely beat Pierce the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bobcats never let the Bears get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bobcats have posted against the Bears since April 23, 2019.
Aydrik Stolz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Michael Anderson was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jack Kegg, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Paradise always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pierce only posted an OBP of .211.
Meanwhile, Colusa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Winters, falling 16-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the RedHawks have suffered against the Warriors since April 6, 2023.
The win made it two in a row for Paradise and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Colusa, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-15.
Colusa's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Paradise has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Colusa, though, as they've been averaging only 2.8 strikeouts. Will Paradise keep running through batters, or will the RedHawks buck the trend?
Paradise suffered a grim 10-4 defeat to Colusa in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
