Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ryan Croston and Maxwell Smith Lead Pymatuning Valley to Victory

Pymatuning Valley won the last time they faced Champion and things went their way on Saturday too. The Pymatuning Valley Lakers walked away with a 68-57 victory over the Champion Golden Flashes. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lakers.

Leading Pymatuning Valley to victory were Maxwell Smith and Ryan Croston. Smith almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine boards, while Croston dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. What's more, Croston also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in January. Andrew Wludyga was another key player, putting up five points.

Several Golden Flashes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Williams, who posted 20 points. Another player making a difference was Mike Miller, who put up 12 points and eight rebounds.

Pymatuning Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Champion, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Pymatuning Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-71 win against Harding on the 17th. As for Champion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-37 defeat against LaBrae on the 16th.
