The McNair Eagles entered their tilt with the Edison Vikings with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. McNair walked away with a 61-49 win over the Vikings on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as McNair also won the last time the pair played back in January.
McNair's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kalysa Phanhsavang led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 assists. kathalyna phanhsavang was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five steals.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mary Grady, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Grady has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ajaila Jordan, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
McNair has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for Edison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-13.
McNair will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Ja'naysha Green and Phanhsavang. As for Edison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chavez focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday.
