The Orestimba Warriors entered their tilt with the Waterford Wildcats with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Orestimba strolled past the Wildcats with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 32-13. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Orestimba also won the last time the pair played back in January.
It was another big night for Olivia Gray, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below three steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Mia Quevedo, who scored no points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Waterford still got an impressive performance from Thalia Reyes, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Reyes has been hot recently, having posted six or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Ward, who scored four points along with four steals.
Orestimba is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Waterford, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
Orestimba has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Lions at 5:30 p.m. on January 27th. Linden has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 6. As for Waterford, they will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
