The Oceana Sharks came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Balboa 47-18 at home. Oceana might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five games by 21 points or more this season.
Allie Pon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kelani Cheng, who scored nine points.
Oceana has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Balboa, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oceana won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Summit Shasta at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. Balboa will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lowell at 5:30 p.m. on January 10, 2024.
