The Independence Falcons had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They blew past Stockdale 63-28 on the road. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Independence had established a 23 point advantage.
Kaylynn Bolden was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 19 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ka'Rayah Robertson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds.
Stockdale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Priscila Salazar, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarleen Kaur, who scored nine points.
Independence's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Stockdale, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-19.
Independence will head out on the road to square off against Bakersfield Christian at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Averaging 55.67 points so far this season, Bakersfield Christian's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Independence better be ready for a challenge. As for Stockdale, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Garces Memorial at 6:30 p.m. Stockdale is facing Garces Memorial at the right time seeing as Garces Memorial is stuck on a 11-game losing streak.
