Sadly, the Galeton Tigers are still looking for their first win of the season after 19 matches. They took a serious blow against Williamson on Monday, falling 58-13. Galeton has not had much luck with Williamson recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Galeton still got an impressive performance from Lynlee Basile, who scored ten points. That was a full 76.9% of Galeton's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Williamson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Olivia Meisner led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. Meisner continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Taylor Rae Jones, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Galeton's loss was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Williamson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Galeton will be playing at home against Port Allegany at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Galeton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last 19 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Williamson, they will head out on the road to face off against Wyalusing Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Williamson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday.
