After flying high against the Bradshaw Christian The Pride last Tuesday, the Galt Warriors came back down to earth. Galt was beaten by the Cougars 60-20 on Friday. Galt was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.
Galt's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Akayla-Joy Gunter, who scored seven points.
It was another big night for Alana Schneider, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 20 rebounds for El Dorado. Schneider is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 18 games she's played. Kali Cusic was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six steals and five assists.
Galt's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for El Dorado, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-9.
Galt will be playing at home against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Ranch is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.1 points per game this season. As for El Dorado, they will head out on the road to take on the Diamondbacks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Union Mine focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Friday.
