The Liberty Patriots came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Stockdale 59-25 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-11.
Kaylee Batten was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Ellee Statler was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashley Wilson, who scored six points.
Liberty has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Stockdale, they bumped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will take on Centennial at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Centennial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Wednesday. As for Stockdale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Frontier at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Frontier focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
