The Parkland Trojans gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. Everything went their way against Cumberland Valley as Parkland made off with a 62-36 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-15.
Cumberland Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Sienna Manns and Greta Dwyer. Manns scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds, while Dwyer scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. Manns scored a full 38.9% of Cumberland Valley's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Parkland's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Cumberland Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Parkland will take on Conwell-Egan Catholic in a holiday battle at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at. As for Cumberland Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Central Dauphin East at 7:15 p.m.
