Cretin-Derham Hall (St. Paul, Minn.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 14 points, drop to eight before the final whistle blew on a 14-6 victory over
White Bear Lake (Minn.).
After taking the lead on a
Ricardo Johnson touchdown pass to
Aitor Flood in the first quarter, the Raiders were up 14-0 at the half.
Cretin-Derham Hall saw its 14-point halftime lead decrease to eight entering the fourth.
White Bear Lake's lone touchdown came on a 4-yard run by
Paul Skogen in the third quarter.
CDH went into the matchup giving up only 11.2 points per game.
The loss comes after White Bear Lake defeated Hastings 31-29 last week. The loss broke White Bear Lake's two-game winning streak. With the win the St. Paul school extended its winning streak to three games.
Cretin-Derham Hall (4-2) goes up against Park in a Suburban East game matchup next week, while White Bear Lake (2-4) locks horns with Mounds View also in a Suburban East game.
