Rancho Verde's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past JW North 50-48. The victory was just what Rancho Verde needed coming off of a 73-29 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Paloma Valley strolled past Poly with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 46-27. The victory was just what Paloma Valley needed coming off of a 89-39 loss in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Ashlee Medrano, who scored 22 points along with six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played. Ambriel Harkins was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Rancho Verde's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-10. As for Paloma Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Rancho Verde couldn't quite finish off Paloma Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2022 and fell 2-0. Can Rancho Verde avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
