The El Rancho Dons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 26 points or more this season. They blew past Capistrano Valley 60-28 on the road. With El Rancho ahead 31-9 at the half, the match was all but over already.
El Rancho's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emery Riker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Riker hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariel Marquez, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
El Rancho's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Capistrano Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Orange the next time they take the court. Capistrano Valley will head out to face Orange at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while El Rancho will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
