Oxford has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Southbridge Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Oxford beat Prouty 61-51. The victory was all the more spectacular given Oxford's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while Prouty is ranked 32nd).
Brady Marqoupis was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kofi Owusu, who scored 15 points.
Even though Southbridge has not done well against Bartlett recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Southbridge secured a 51-47 W over Bartlett.
The victory got Oxford back to even at 6-6. As for Southbridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Oxford against Southbridge when the teams last played on January 3rd as the team secured a 87-47 win. With Oxford ahead 42-18 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
