The Burroughs Bears put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 55-23 win over Pasadena. Given Burroughs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Pasadena is ranked 529th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Burroughs' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elizabeth Amoroso, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for Amoroso. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Hackney, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Burroughs' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Pasadena, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Burroughs will be home for the holidays to greet Crescenta Valley at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Crescenta Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Burroughs likes a good challenge. As for Pasadena, they will head out on the road to face off against Burbank at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
