The Apollo Hawks will square off against the Dobson Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
On Monday, Apollo got the win against Browne by a conclusive 22-6. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by exactly 16 runs.
Apollo got a massive performance out of Fernanda Barrera Prudente, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Barrera Prudente has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Aubry Gomez, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Dobson not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 17, 2025 (when they won 31-0). They were the clear victors by a 26-9 margin over Maryvale.
Allie Hanson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hanson was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Nikole Torres was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Lilly Flick was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs and two RBI.
Dobson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .600 that Maryvale posted.
Apollo's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Dobson, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
