The Agnes Irwin Owls's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 50-43 to Episcopal Academy. The match was a 22-22 toss-up at halftime, but Agnes Irwin couldn't quite close it out.
Agnes Irwin lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Simone Harvey, who scored ten points along with three steals. Harvey hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Sarah Shelton, who scored six points along with two steals.
Agnes Irwin has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Episcopal Academy, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-12.
Agnes Irwin will face off against William Penn Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. William Penn Charter will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Agnes Irwin surely won't give up without a fight. Episcopal Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
