The Northern Cambria Colts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 65-42 walloping at the hands of Blacklick Valley. Northern Cambria has not had much luck with Blacklick Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
It was another big night for Kristin Szymusiak, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 steals for Blacklick Valley. Szymusiak is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydence Killinger, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Northern Cambria's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Blacklick Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northern Cambria will take on Penns Manor at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Penns Manor has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three contests. As for Blacklick Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ferndale at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ferndale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 517th, while Blacklick Valley is ranked 203rd).
