After flying high against the Paradise Bobcats last Friday, the Willows Honkers came back down to earth. Willows received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 64-46 to East Nicolaus. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Willows in their matchups with East Nicolaus: they've now lost six in a row.
Several Honkers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was McKenzie Yang, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Yang scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karla Sandoval DiMaggio, who scored 14 points.
Willows' defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for East Nicolaus, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willows will take on Pierce at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Nicolaus, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Durham at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th.
