MaxPreps 2013 California Medium Schools Baseball All-State Team

The MaxPreps California Medium Schools All-State Team has a strong group of candidates vying for the Player of the Year Award, but the accomplishments of Serra's Dominic Smith are hard to overlook.

Already the MaxPreps Medium Schools National Player of the Year, Smith also went No. 11 overall in the Major League Baseball Draft and helped the Cavaliers capture a Southern Section Division III championship. He was also named the Southern Section Division III player of the Year.

Smith beats out a group that includes San Diego Section MVP Ian Clarkin of Madison (San Diego), Southern Section Division IV Player of the Year Phillip Bickford of Oaks Christian (Westlake Village) and Bakersfield All-Area MVP Jake Sweaney of Garces (Bakersfield).

The MaxPreps Medium Schools All-State Teams are made up of players chosen from schools which play in enrollment divisions generally consisting of 1,000 to 2,000 students.
