Softball Recap: Meeker Wins Going Away Against Battle Mountain

Meeker won the last time they faced Battle Mountain and things went their way on Monday too. The Cowboys were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Huskies. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cowboys.

Addie Knowles was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Knowles was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Meeker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meeker's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Battle Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meeker will head out to face off against Eagle Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cowboys' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Devils have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Battle Mountain, they will head out on the road to take on Aspen at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
