Softball Recap: Lamar Wins Going Away Against Burlington

Lamar not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 18, 2024 (when they won 13-1). They blew past the Burlington Cougars 12-0. The win continues a trend for the Thunder in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won eight in a row.

Carlin Weber made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Weber was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Khloe Fernandez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Londyn Navarrette, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Lamar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.

Lamar's record now sits at 3-4. As for Burlington, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Lamar didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-4 victory against Falcon on the 5th. As for Burlington, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-3 loss against La Junta on the 28th.
