In what's become a running theme this season, the Marysville Indians gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sutter 68-39 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Marysville sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Abigail Pietz continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 15 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Pietz is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Krystal Briggs, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Sutter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Torrence Harter. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harter has scored all season.
Marysville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Sutter, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marysville will take on Center at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Center will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 675th, while Marysville is ranked 208th). As for Sutter, they will play host again and welcome Wheatland, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
