D.H. Conley will venture away from home to challenge Hoggard at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. D.H. Conley will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
If D.H. Conley beats Hoggard with ten runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Everything went the Vikings' way against Cedar Ridge on Wednesday as they made off with a 10-1 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.
D.H. Conley gave Conner Berry the start and clearly made the right call: he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Berry has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ethan Stewart and Hayden Willoughby did most of the damage at the plate: Stewart got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Willoughby went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Willoughby a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Coleton Newbern, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Hoggard posted their closest win since March 11th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Broughton, sneaking past 3-2. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Capitals recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
London Summers looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Hoggard: the team is 5-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 4-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Hoggard's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bair Kunyel, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Colin Kilcommons, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
D.H. Conley's record is now 12-1. As for Hoggard, their record now sits at 9-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. D.H. Conley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hoggard struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
D.H. Conley skirted past Hoggard 6-5 when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Does D.H. Conley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hoggard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
