Meanwhile, Wasco scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Delano 53-27. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wasco.
Wasco relied on the efforts of Karly Perez, who scored 12 points, and Illiana Villanueva, who scored eight points along with eight steals and three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for her. Devanie Caban was another key contributor, scoring two points along with five steals.
South's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Wasco, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.
South beat Wasco 38-28 in their previous meeting on December 14th. The rematch might be a little tougher for South since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
