Bri Thomas was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 17 rebounds. Those 29 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Fuson, who scored ten points.
When it comes to explaining why Whittier Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jatniel Cabrera. Despite the final result, she scored 28 points along with four steals. Cabrera scored a full 49.1% of Whittier Christian's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ariana Botello was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
The victory (which was Great Oak's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Whittier Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
