Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Rio Americano Raiders walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wolverine a 4-0 shutout on Saturday. Give Rio Americano's defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.
They hit Rosemont with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Hannah Hopkins (2),
Sadie Burns, and
Sierra Betzler.
Rio Americano has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3-2 record this season. As for Rosemont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7-6.
Rio Americano will take on Vista del Lago at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rosemont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
