South Tahoe is 0-6 against Galena since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The South Tahoe Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Galena Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. Galena took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on South Tahoe, who comes in off a win.
South Tahoe's three-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past North Tahoe 34-32. The win was just what South Tahoe needed coming off of a 61-21 defeat in their prior contest.
South Tahoe got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addie Menke out in front who scored 8 points along with 12 rebounds and 5 steals. Campbell Mathews was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Galena's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to North Valleys on the road by a decisive 61-42 margin. While losing is never fun, Galena can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while North Valleys is ranked 17th).
Bishop Manogue's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while South Tahoe's defeat dropped theirs to 1-3.
Things could have been worse for South Tahoe, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-25 loss to Galena when the teams last played back in December of 2022.
