Softball Recap: Savannah Wins Going Away Against Plattsburg

Savannah never got on the board in their matchup last Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Plattsburg on Monday. They blew past the Tigers 17-2. The Savages might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Savannah got a great performance from Brailyn Fox as she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Fox has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lynli Eagleburger and Olivia Schaub did most of the damage at the plate: Eagleburger went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Schaub went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those five RBI gave Eagleburger a new career-high. Addisen Koehler was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Savannah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plattsburg only posted an OBP of .211.

Savannah has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Plattsburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

As of now, neither Savannah nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
