The Jurupa Hills Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Grand Terrace Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jurupa Hills is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Jurupa Hills had to suffer through a rough 65-30 loss at the hands of Fontana. While losing is never fun, Jurupa Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 965th, while Fontana is ranked 202nd).
Meanwhile, Grand Terrace was able to grind out a solid win over Arroyo Valley on Tuesday, taking the game 35-22. The win made it back-to-back wins for Grand Terrace.
Grand Terrace relied on the efforts of Jayleen Barajas, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds, and Mikayla Doud, who scored 8 points along with 16 rebounds and 3 steals. The matchup was Barajas' eighth in a row with at least ten points.
Alta Loma's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Jurupa Hills' loss dropped theirs to 0-4.
Jurupa Hills came up short against Grand Terrace in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 53-46. Can Jurupa Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
