The Hargrave Falcons will take on the Dobie Longhorns in a tournament on Saturday. Hargrave will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Hargrave's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Dickinson. Hargrave's victory was all the more impressive since the Gators were averaging only 3.71 runs allowed on the season.
Kendall Padgett made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Padgett was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brooke Edevold and Kaylee Parker did most of the damage at the plate: Edevold went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Parker went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Those two hits gave Parker a new career-high. Harley Juarez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Hargrave hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dobie). Everything went their way against Pasadena Memorial on Friday as they made off with a 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Vanessa De La Fuente looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Natalie De Hoyos was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Coronado, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Hargrave's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Dobie, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hargrave hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like Dobie struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
