The Thornton Trojans will challenge the Skyline Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Thornton has six straight victories, Skyline has 26 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Thornton's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Aurora Central as they made off with a 20-0 win. Thornton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Izabella Groover made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mya Grady was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in August of 2024. Sophia Ornelas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Thornton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Skyline scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 24-8 to Aurora Central.
Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Thornton, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2-1.
Everything went Thornton's way against Skyline in their previous meeting on Wednesday, as Thornton made off with a 17-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
