The Ladue Horton Watkins Rams will challenge the Affton Cougars at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Ladue Horton Watkins' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Affton has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
On Friday, Ladue Horton Watkins made easy work of Mehlville and carried off a 16-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won seven contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Caroline Moore made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in October of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Ladue Horton Watkins got a massive performance out of Nylah Pierce, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Colette Brennan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Ladue Horton Watkins was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Affton took on Hazelwood West on Wednesday. The Cougars came up short against the Wildcats, falling 19-3.
Affton's loss dropped their record down to 2-10-1. As for Ladue Horton Watkins, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Affton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ladue Horton Watkins hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. It's a different story for Affton, though, as they've only averaged .222. Will they be able to contain Ladue Horton Watkins' hitters?
