It was a good run, but Coastal HomeSchool unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. The game between the Coastal HomeSchool Hurricanes and the South Charlotte Thunder didn't end well, with the Coastal HomeSchool Hurricanes falling 74-59.
Despite the loss, Coastal HomeSchool still got an impressive performance from Alijah McField, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten boards. What's more, McField posted three blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Jenkins, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 13 points.
Even though they lost, Coastal HomeSchool was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. This was only their ninth loss (out of 34 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Jack Porter had an outrageously good game for South Charlotte as he shot 55% from beyond the arc on his way to 35 points and five rebounds. South Charlotte is undefeated when Porter posts 20 or more points, but 11-19 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mason Kern, who had 11 points.
Coastal HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 25-12. As for South Charlotte, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-19.
Coastal HomeSchool wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-51 victory against Frederick W on the 7th. As for South Charlotte, they have also already played their next contest, a 66-46 loss against South Wake on the 7th.
