The Benjamin Davis Falcons will face off against the Nimitz Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Benjamin Davis' favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last four games.
Benjamin Davis will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Dekaney, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Nicholas Tramble 11 and David Richardson. Tramble 11 rushed for 225 yards and one score while picking up 7.8 yards per carry while Richardson gained 78 total yards and three touchdowns. With that strong performance, Tramble 11 is now averaging an impressive 102.8 rushing yards per game.
Benjamin Davis was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 376 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Benjamin Davis' defense made their presence known, laying out David Edmondson three times. In that department, Cae'Dyn Daughtry was the leader with two sacks. Benjamin Davis got some further help from Keithas Johnson: he forced one fumble and made six total tackles.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Nimitz and Westfield had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Cougars took a 42-27 bruising from the Mustangs on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 417th, while the Mustangs are ranked 124th).
Benjamin Davis pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.7 points over those games. As for Nimitz, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.
Benjamin Davis strolled past Nimitz in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 53-36. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
