The Athens Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Benton Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (Athens is ranked 570th, while the Tigers are ranked 546th).
Last Friday, Athens ended up a good deal behind the Trojans and lost 55-38. Athens has struggled against the Trojans recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Benton was the victim of a tough 59-37 loss at the hands of the Quakers on Tuesday.
Athens' loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Benton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Athens against the Tigers in their previous meeting back in January of 2022 as the squad secured a 50-16 victory. Will Athens repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
